Every four years, DOD commissions a complete review of compensation principles and concepts for members of the armed forces known as the Quadrennial Review of Military Compensation (QRMC).

When this review is complete, a detailed report is submitted to Congress summarizing the results of the review along with any recommended changes or actions regarding the statutory salary system and other elements of the compensation structure for members of the uniformed services.
