Savings Deposit Program (SDP) Overview
The SDP was established to provide members of the uniformed services serving in designated combat zones the opportunity to build their financial savings.
Participation Guidelines
Terminating Participation
Service members may close their SDP accounts only after departing the combat zone. Interest will continue to accrue on the account up to 90 days after departure from the combat zone according to the following timelines:
Withdrawals
Service members in a combat zone may withdraw accrued interest over the $10,000.00 principal quarterly.
Withdrawals of deposited funds (principle) may only be made if a Service member or dependent's health or welfare is at risk without access to the funds.
Note: Emergency withdrawals must be authorized by the Service members' commanding officer.
