MC&FR Mission

  • Develop and oversee implementation of personnel policies that maintain fair and competitive compensation and entitlement systems.
  • Formulate, implement, and administer DoW policy on Military Personnel Compensation for the total force.
  • Chair the DoW Armed Forces Tax Council; and initiate tax related legislation, litigation and administration action.
 
Financial Readiness

 MC&FR Financial Readiness, in collaboration with the services, federal partners and non-federal entities, provides programs, policy, education, advocacy and program oversight required for Service members and families to achieve personal financial readiness in support of mission readiness

Learning Resource Library

The MC&FR Learning Resource Library connects service providers and leaders with common military training (CMT) curriculum and ancillary materials used to support the Department of War's mission to provide financial literacy education to Service and family members.

Uniformed Services Blended Retirement System (BRS) 

The BRS combines elements of the legacy retirement system with benefits similar to those offered in many civilian 401(k) plans. The BRS includes the following options:

  • Defined benefit 
  • Defined contribution 
  • Continuation pay 
  • Lump sum distribution
